I usually am pretty straight when I explain things both in a good or a bad way. If you are improving I will say it, if you don't, same goes for that. Since I care more than anyone else on the success of the student, I want to be as honest as possible with them and try to help them reach their milestones faster while also having fun.

Well... some people might disagree, but meta is indeed useless in 90% of the coaching cases unless a player aspires to become a pro. Talking about generic coaching; stats and best champions are non-existant, you can literally play everything, create your own build, as long as it's statistically not wrong, and you will go up by just your own will and some basic informations paired with some consistency. So yeah, we can pretty much say that the meta, is not something relevant especially when someone wants to learn, because often we misslead important informations, example: (meta items are the best items on a specific type of enviroment, but they are not statistically always the best ones!) So telling a player to buy x item because it's "meta" makes a lot of damage in the long run because after 3 months or so, they will not be able to play again because you didn't explain them basic concepts such as ad, armor crit scaling and so on..

ahaha that's pretty funny! I was born as an "account booster", in season 9 paired with a challenger talon player we were boosting accounts to master and making tons of money with it (he was actually paying his bills with it). I have no fear saying that I was a booster back in the time, it wasn't that much of an issue basically everyone was doing it, but few could boost fresh accounts up to masters and we were having lots of fun aswell because we were friends so that was kind of special. Also I did try out to boost people on their accounts, but mostly it was just for some of my friends to help the reach gold for the skin of the year and eventually, I stopped doing it because it felt pretty exhausting and not rewarding, also my friend decided to drop aswell.

I usually focus on the most important thing to make a "fast improvement". Usually a player has more than one issue but probably one of them is keeping them stuck way more than others. I usually aim to fix that mistake so that they can confidently say "this guy knows what he's talking about!". So first thing is to give it all on their worse aspect and then we go from there on depending on how many lessons and how committed the student is.

When I watch a live game I usually watch movements camera, hotkeys what the player focuses on and some minor macro things just to avoid that the game gets lost even before the start. If i'm watching a replay i'm more focused towards gold efficiency reset, matchups, trading patterns, warding and so many other things. Once I realized which one the customer does worse I'll do the first lesson on that specific argument!

I usually just ask for champion pools and some informations that I gather when I'm naturally coaching them. You just have to be a detective, ask everything that you think it's needed to play a good game of league and then try to see if your students do the same as you or they have anything different that can distract them. This could be related to the game but also to personal side areas like friendship, love, having a bad day or simply not having the will to talk with a teammate because he hates him. A coach has to fix all of that and prepare his team till the end of the draft to make sure everything is on-line.

I stick to three options - 1 hour of live games, 1 hour of vods and both so live+vod for 1h and a half. I think they are enough and also the best ways to provide value both on a macro and micro way. I also have some experience as a team coach of low elo ranks where you can try out new things comps and actually have loads of fun! I also would never coach for a high elo team because then meta and player pride comes first, so coach job becomes a bit more of a "second side" thing but if some people like it, I don't see anything wrong with it, you know it's just my view of the things! I remember a team of plat players stomping us as masters players because they had a brilliant coach and player base they were respecting each other both in draft and as players and that made me think a lot about the role of a coach, it's like the glue to stick and make people realize everything and give an identity to a player. Every story starts with a coach!

My team management comes out of making 3 comps no matter what. Depending on the ability of the team the type of the comp can vary on pick, front to back, split and so on. The focus of my program is to make it so that at the end your team is able to pick a comp and reliably win with it. Sometimes coaches forget that counterpicking is not good if your comp and your players are not used to play those champs! Also asides from that I offer replay watching along with all the team helping them to syncronize better their plays and their gameplay.

I usually am pretty straight forward as a coach. If you are bad I will tell you that you are, if you improved I will tell you that you improved. While this might be a bit rude by me I like to be honest with people especially when they pay for my service and expect a specific outcome or improvement. I am the first one willing to see an improvement by them so that's why I want to be as honest as possible and help them to achieve what they asked me for. When there's a debate, I usually judge everything the customer is saying despite him being bronze or challenger. There was a time i learnt something by coaching a bronze player so everything and everyone could be right on a specific topic. Always evaluate what the customer is thinking! The coaching has to be a dialogue not a monologue.

Hire a coach once, understand what you need and if he's understanding your issues. there's no other way if not to test him out once! If you feel pressure or after lots of time nothing is improving change and test again maybe you got unlucky or his style it's not appropriate for your situation! It doesn't mean that the coach is bad, simply, he could be specialised on something else.
