So Flawless (Dee) is a R&B, Hip Hop & Pop Music Producer, Beat Maker from Sydney, Australia. I have been a professional Music Producer for over 20 years and have had national and international success in my career. I have had my songs I produced and mixed in TV shows, movies and commercials.
I started making music when I was in high school. Everyone knew I was obsessed with music so one day a friend of mine put me on to a software that allows you to create music. I tried it and was hooked. I had no formal music training until a few years later where I completed a music production degree course.
The genres I specialise in are Rap, R&B and Pop music however my sound has elements of other genres like EDM and Cinematic vibes. A signature sound is a difficult thing to accomplish as a music producer although I would say my signature style is emotive with dark and haunting energy throughout all of my songs.
I'm an avid Logic Pro X user and have been for many years. I'm comfortable using Logic and it's definitely my preferred digital audio workstation. My audio interface I use daily is the Apollo Twin X. The quality I gain from Apollo interfaces is incredible.
I have been collaborating with clients online for over 15 years. It is amazing what technology can do. Usually, all communication will be through email and to share files, I prefer using Dropbox as its easy and straightforward to use.
Firstly, I would ask the clients I collaborate with what kind of song are they wanting to create. Then we'd discuss the sound they're looking for, the song concept and so on. Once I know that, then I'll go in and start creating the music and make sure it's the sound the client wants. Normally, the client would write the lyrics to the music I create and then we would record the vocals. Once the vocals are recorded, I would mix the vocals and get the song mastered also to finish the song.
I believe really listening to the vision from the client is super important to building trust and showing the client that I am the right music producer for the job. I'm in constant communication with my clients every step of the creative process to ensure every expectation is met and delivered at high quality.
I have a policy for every project I work on that my clients will receive 3 free revisions. If any more revisions than 3 are required then we will discuss pricing and proceed from there. There will always be changes in creating and I'm always very open to that.
My prices vary depending on what each client requires however my prices start from $200. This includes a song mix with no master and prices are higher if the client requires the instrumental mixed along with the vocals and a master. This could range between $500-$1000.
I always keep up to date with latest music trends and technologies as it's part of the requirements of my job. I have to understand what the latest sounds are in order to be able to deliver whatever is asked of me for my clients and plus, I love what I do so I always love learning new techniques and styles in music production!
I would suggest to be clear in your communication and explain in as much detail as possible what it is you require. Also look for the music producers who have a solid rating and who have clients that have left positive reviews, even if the music producer is a little expensive compared to others but as I always say, you get what you pay for!
