Apex Legends Coaches on Crafting Custom Coaching Strategies

I have been playing Apex Legends since the very beginning of the game, season 0. Since then, I have obtained the top rank of Apex Predator multiple times and peaked top 20 in the leaderboards during 2 separate seasons. I also main Wattson, finishing #3 for kills on all platforms worldwide season 8 and finishing #1 for PC kills worldwide season 16.

There are also achievements such as maintaining Masters/Apex Predator rank 30x times, as well as solo queueing to Masters with shotguns only in under 30 hours. I have just begun my coaching journey a few months ago and it’s been a privilege to share my knowledge with up and coming players that strive to get better.

My coaching approach is extremely dependent on the client I have at hand. Apex Legends is a game where there are so many factors that play into improvement.

I have methods for aim training, 1 on 1 engagements, situational awareness, ranked assistance, competitive coaching, and almost any scenario you can think of. No matter what it is that you’d like to improve on, I have countless methods of getting you there.

I tailor my coaching sessions based on a variety of different factors. This includes rank, KD, the season they started playing, their main legends that they run, and what they feel they could improve on the most. Each person that has ever booked a session with me has learned something new from it for this exact reason.

My specialty behind my coaching is that I main the legend Wattson. I’ve been a Wattson main since season 3, and totaling about 50k kills with her. This benefits my coaching because Wattson has very limited mobility and relies heavily on situational awareness and gun skill to win fights. I know what it takes to win games with a limited amount of utility at your disposal, and therefor can help you become more versatile within an array of different legends.

I do recommend watching coaching tutorials, especially because a lot of my coaching strategies are inspired them. I have learned to combine these tutorials together, and include my own spin to make the best possible collection of ideas to tackle certain areas of improvement. I think there is no shame in saying that, and coaches should do this more often to get a more broad sense of difficulties new players may have.

There’s a lot of different ways I can analyze a players’ gameplay due to in game performance. I can realize this off their decision making, communication, damage output in gunfights, and situational awareness. Splitting these helps me figure out what each player can improve the most on, and helps me build a strategy on the very best way to counter that.

I have plenty of strategies to help team cohesion and communication during a game. I do offer team coaching in scrims/tournaments, and will write down major points during matches to discuss with teams after each game ends. Most of these subjects include team coordination and communication. During solo sessions, I will provide opportunities for my trainee to IGL (in game lead) and provide feedback on how they do, as well as how they communicate during gunfights.

The main tool I utilize for coaching is Discord. This can help with a variety of different barriers, like not relying on game chat and the availability to talk at any point. I also use Discord to watch gameplay if that's the coaching path we choose to take, and from there I will critique your in game decisions by getting an in depth view on how you play.

New players of Apex Legends should begin by spending time in the firing range every time they play. There they can learn recoil patterns of all different weapons and tighten their aim. From there, they can start to implement more movement during their shots. I would also suggest sending your settings to a coach like myself, to see if there is any small changes you can make that will massively improve your gameplay.

I am extremely proficient in all game modes within Apex Legends. I can provide help with your ranked gameplay, retaining Masters/Apex Predator 30+ times throughout my career. I also have solo queued to Masters multiple times in Arenas, and made top 3 in seasonal kills more than once for kill grinding. More recently, I have been playing in tournaments and scrims 3/4x a week, so regardless of what mode you may need help with, I will have past/current experience in anything you need.

Since cross-play released a few seasons back, I have the ability to play with anyone, regardless of the console or PC that you own. I welcome anyone, regardless if your rank or what you play on, to book a session. I guarantee you will always learn something new.
